Dear Nancy

Fragile bones,
shaky hands,
vivacious soul,
and righteous plans.

A deep contentment
shines in your eyes,
with crow’s feet wrinkles
to prove you’re wise.

Your steadfast faith
and heart of gold
shape this story
I left untold.

Dear Nancy,
are you doing well?
Boston is so lovely that
it’s had me in its spell.

I’ll never know
what became of my
dear Nancy, but
it’s time I say goodbye.

Thank you old shepherd,
you’ve done so much.
I’ve found my own flock,
and I’ve thrown out my crutch.
